Actor Eddie Murphy to pay Mel B monthly child support for their daughter Angel

Eddie Murphy, the American actor and comedian, has reached an agreement with his ex, Mel B, to pay $35,000 in monthly child support for their 15-year-old daughter, Angel Iris Murphy Brown.
In court documents obtained by Daily Mail, the new child support arrangement was agreed upon following a change in Mel’s income.
Initially, Murphy had been paying Mel B $25,000 a month, but the modified agreement stipulates that he will now have to pay an extra $10,000 a month, retroactively from October 2021 until Angel reaches 18. Additionally, he agreed to cover Brown’s attorney fees of $10,000.
According to the court documents, Murphy is identified as an ‘extraordinarily high earner’, and the child support amount has been calculated based on the reasonable needs of their daughter. The monthly payments will be transferred via wire transfer and are due on the first calendar day of each month.
It was also noted in the filing that Mel B will be responsible for additional costs such as health insurance, healthcare, extracurricular activities, and educational expenses for Angel.
The agreement is a ‘non-guideline child support order’, which means that a ‘material change of circumstances’ is not required for modification.
Mel B first requested more child support in October 2020, citing a significant decrease in her income. Despite attempts to resolve the case without court intervention, the matter was not resolved.
Melanie Brown gave birth to Angel Iris Murphy Brown on Eddie Murphy’s 46th birthday in 2007. Initially, there were disputes over paternity, but Murphy eventually acknowledged and embraced his role as Angel’s father.
